HOLY MOUNTAIN

Fall/Winter capsule collection.

A meditation on the ties between humans, land, and spirituality.

Process included personal exploration of craft techniques, scholarly research, and ethically sourced materials from indigenous vendors.

Sketchbook Research:

Exploring the idea of the “honorable harvest” as documented in Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass. How can traditional craft help us connect with land and spirituality? Can design serve as a means of giving back?

Making process

Materiality was a driving force in designing this collection. Beaded headpieces and body jewelry were crafted by an in-class team using materials sources from local indigenous vendors.

For the jacket and skirt designs, I draped using found materials such as a synthetic liquid drape and vintage Irish linen.
